This is my hair routine, this method may help you if you have afro-carribean, frizzy, curly, or wild hair. I have very short hair at the moment so i mostly wear my hair straight, however if you do not want to straighten your hair after it has dried then i suggest using some natural coconut oil and running it through your hair when the hair is about 90% dry. Although I am of Anglo-American heritage (I even look Aryan---blue eyes and blond hair), I consider black women to be the most beautiful women to have ever evolved. They have this exotic look to them that white and Asian women don't have. Unfortunately, black female beauty is seldom appreciated in our Eurocentric society, and I thought I'd put something out there to change that. I actually had a video similar to this up on YT earlier, but I took it down, because I wasn't sure if I wanted to shout out my preference for black women out to the world. Having thought about it some more, however, I decided that I did want to show black women some love, so here goes. The original video had a different song which had a lusty tone to it, whereas here I've decided to go with something more sweet and romantic. The song used here is "What Makes You Different" by the Backstreet Boys.

It reminds me of Supermingo by Model Model, but a lil thinner.It has combs in the front and back, with adjustable straps. I bought her from clairhair.com and it was $14.99 then but now it at its regular price $17.99. Doesnt shed really. It has that wet and wavy look. So . .. I combed out my dreadlocks over 3 months ago, and I'm still a natural beauty (no relaxer/creamy crack.) I've been rockin' the flat iron look lately; and have decided to try to wear an Afro. Well . .. as you can see, I am wearing a french roll. The texture of my hair is much different than I anticipated, and the afro is not working for me. Dag!! You will need: 1. Glue gun 2.1 1/2" Ribbon (color of your choice) 3. 5/8" Ribbon (for center) 4. Needle & thread 5.Scissors 6. Lighter (to seal ribbon) 7. Head Band This list contains the correct ribbon size for the center. I used the wrong size ribbon since that's was only size I had at the time. The only place that I found the headbands where at an African Beauty stores or dollars stores, cost was about $1. Glue gun I bought at Hobby Lobby for about $6. (Optional) Instead of using a headband you could used an alligator clip and you wrap it the same way as the headband on the tutorial. I also found 80 alligator clips at the African Hair Beauty store for $4, it's a great bargain. I will be uploading videos with other how to's hairbow types soon. I also have different types of headbands other then baby one's. If you have any questions inregards to this video or advice let me know I would love to hear from you! Cut and paste from the KQED website: The Yerba Buena Center commissioned choreographer Ronald K. Brown to create a dance that allows an audience to see and hear the suits in action. (Cave, who trained with Alvin Ailey before earning a graduate degree in fashion, has performed in the soundsuits before.) The performance that Brown choreographed complements the variety found within the suits themselves, incorporating elements of African, ballet, hip-hop and modern dance. There is no stage for the performance, instead dancers begin their performance at the top of the stairs in the foyer of the Yerba Buena Center, and move through the building in a few rounds, hitting all of the gallery spaces, and stopping at intervals to dance-off with, and sometimes up on, the attendees. There is no music for most of the performance so the audience can listen to the sounds the suits make, but to be honest, I felt that aspect was the least interesting part of the show. They do make noise, mostly in muted tones like swishing hair and the rustling raffia, but the beauty of the suits in motion and the marvel of their construction dwarf the sensation. A word of advice: if you make it to one of the performances: let the dancers come to you rather than battle the crowd that inevitably follows them on their parade through the Art Center. This video is a response to oooop95's video: Press & Curl vs. Relaxed. In short, these are my responses and arguments: 1) We set up unrealistic expectations on how to care for our hair because ... - we believe false assumptions on how women of different hair types (including straight) than ours care for their hair and want to be able to do the same, instead of learning or re-educating ourselves on how to maintain and care for our hair. - we don't see or hear of detailed regimens or outlines on how to care for our hair being exposed much through the popular media (besides Youtube). Hey, naturals! This is a curly fro style that can be worn either up or down. You can add fun clips and barrettes, headbands or even put it in a ponytail. Stay On Satin Bonnet: www.stayonsatin.com You can find these at your local beauty supply store or drugstore (Rite Aid, Duane Reade, Walgreens, etc...). To get this style: 1) I spritzed my hair lightly with water. 2) I put some jojoba oil in my hair (focusing on the ends). 3) I put my hair in sections and styled my hair in medium to large twists. 4) Then, I curled each twist using flexi-rods. 5) In the morning, I removed all flexi-rods and un-twisted my hair. 6) I seperated the curls carefully and massaged my head with my hands in order to loosen up the curls and create more volume. ^__^ ******Thank you for watching!
